Understanding the ISI Regulatory Compliance Inspection (RCI) Framework for Governors

An interactive and engaging one-day seminar providing an overview of the key features of ISI regulatory compliance inspection from the perspective of governance. We look at the background and scope of the RCI framework, including implications for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and boarding settings, and the activities that take place prior to a scheduled inspection. We explore the role of governors in the inspection process, the methods used for gathering and recording evidence during the inspection visit and the latest formats used for inspection feedback and reporting. You will have the opportunity to clarify specific areas of the framework with the course leader, a highly experienced ISI Reporting Inspector, and benefit from top tips for a successful inspection outcome.

Course Outline

1. Introduction and background to the RCI framework
2. Preparation for an inspection, including inspection guidance, pre-inspection information, policy checks, pre-inspection questionnaires, structure and roles of the inspection team and timetable activity
3. The inspection visit, including EYFS/boarding provision, gathering and recording evidence, revised Evaluation Form activity, policy checking and sources of evidence, including material related to governance       responsibilities
4. Inspection findings: feedback and reporting
